The new resources have become a central part of our lessons, sparking curiosity and encouraging experimentation.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was during a recent science activity where students used the materials to explore textures, colors, and sounds as part of a sensory experiment. Watching them lean in, touch, smell, and listen with wide-eyed focus was incredible. For many of my students, these sensory experiences are essential for understanding the world around them, and the new resources have made that possible in ways we couldn't achieve before.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate—smiles, laughter, and eager hands reaching to explore. My students absolutely love the water table and dress up closet. They are wonderful additions to our classroom and will be enjoyed by these same kiddos in the fall when we loop in 1st grade!\r\n\r\nBoth items have helped my students by encouraging and supporting playing with others, as most often they choose to play solo. They have provided countless opportunities to work on sharing, taking turns, and being a good friend! It is amazing to see their growth in these areas, especially as a common goal among their educational plans is to improve their social skills.\r\n\r\nSome favorite moments include a curious friend who wanted to see how the water table worked and turned the valve underneath the tub to explore the water draining from the bottom. A great science teaching moment with gravity in full view as we observed and explored, 'what do you think is happening?' 'why is the water leaving the tub?'. Another is when two students took turns as doctor and chef, taking everyone's temperatures and making chocolate chip pancakes!
