They couldn't wait to dive in, and within minutes, the room was buzzing with the sounds of collaboration, problem-solving, and \"Look what I made!\"\r\n\r\nWe've already used the magnetic building blocks in small groups to design towers, bridges, and even miniature cities. One student proudly built a spinning windmill, explaining to classmates how each piece connected to make it sturdy. The STEM science viewers have been a huge hit during our science centers—students are exploring insects, rocks, and plant specimens up close, sparking thoughtful questions and lively discussions about what they see.\r\n\r\nThese resources have not only made learning hands-on and engaging but have also encouraged teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking. Our next steps are to use these tools in a full STEM challenge, where students will design and test their own \"future cities\" while incorporating scientific observations from their viewers. This project would not have been possible without your generosity, and I am so grateful for the joy and learning you've brought to my students.","fullyFundedDate":1747939216350,"projectUrl":"project/building-bright-minds-with-magnetic-stem/9159472/","projectTitle":"Building Bright Minds With Magnetic Stem Blocks and Science Viewers!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wright","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp112556_orig.png?crop=311,311,x39,y46&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760703691634","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrskarenwright"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_15623","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":535,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":56,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"19.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":15623,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Robert D Sloman Primary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Robert D Sloman Primary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alabama/marshall-county-school-district/robert-d-sloman-primary-school/15623"}
