My school has been in a newer building for 7 years. With this new building, a few things were taken away. We do not have funding for UIL participation nor are we allowed to participate or compete. Because funding has to be self-raised and there is no class for theater arts, there hasn't been a drama club established. \r\n\r\n[Enter Me] \r\n\r\nI saw the need for our students to express themselves on the stage and started the drama club to have our thespians thrive. There are a lot of things I had to provide my own money for, but I'd be happy to do again if I had it.\r\n\r\nFunding our microphones was something I could not have done, however, so I am so grateful for y'all's contributions to our successful show. It has been the best gift so far. We don't have a theater space, but we do have an LGI (Large Group Instruction) space that we use. It has a stage, but not necessarily the acoustics to be able to project into a large audience of boisterous middle-schoolers. With our wireless mic system, our students were able to perform without worrying about holding handheld microphones. Students who can't project loud enough could still be heard and be hands-free. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping make our Spring 2026 show, and all future shows, a success.","fullyFundedDate":1769527662600,"projectUrl":"project/mics-for-enthusiastic-middle-school-thes/9966842/","projectTitle":"Mics for Enthusiastic Middle School Thespians","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Morales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10388581_orig.jpg?crop=2034,2035,x96,y192&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767626069359","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10388581"},{"teacherId":9551171,"projectId":9143430,"letterContent":"We can't thank you enough! Our scholars were super excited when they learned that they would be getting a classroom store! they were able to get rewarded with snacks and goodies for doing their best (which looks different for each scholar). I am an 8th grade teacher, so at this age the students really ask for food a lot! As you may know, some scholars can't afford snacks to bring to school and that saddens me. As a teacher with a family of my own, I try my best to bring snacks for my class, however with 150 students I am limited. \r\n\r\nThanks to you, every scholar was able to get a treat! We appreciate your generosity from the bottom of our hearts. I am so grateful for a platform like Donors choose to allow us to create a wishlist to provide for our hard working scholars. We are the only A middle school campus in our district and it is nice to reward them for their hard work. Students now use highlighters to mark important information that directly applies to them, and they love choosing their favorite colors instead of being limited to just yellow. During our STAAR review sessions, we incorporated expo markers for desk-based problem-solving games. This made the activities more interactive and fun—students could quickly erase and solve the next problem, which kept the energy high and the focus sharp.\r\n\r\n2.They were genuinely excited! Many students commented on how nice it was to have access to fresh pencils and highlighters in various colors. Our new pencil system ensured that everyone started class prepared, and no one had to use colored pencils or pens to complete assignments anymore. That small change brought a lot more consistency and ease to their learning.\r\n\r\n3.Right now, we're wrapping up the school year with intensive review packets in preparation for STAAR. These packets allow students to revisit key concepts and practice at their own pace. Thanks to the materials, they're able to highlight, annotate, and solve problems efficiently, staying more engaged in the process. The next step is to continue using these tools to build confidence and reinforce mastery ahead of testing.\r\n\r\nThank you for your donation!","fullyFundedDate":1739473120327,"projectUrl":"project/the-must-haves-for-effective-math-learni/9100456/","projectTitle":"The Must-Haves for Effective Math Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Priego","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9804495"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_97334","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":816,"numTeachers":62,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":24,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.6,"schoolId":97334,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dr Edward Roberson Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dr Edward Roberson Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/spring-independent-school-district/roberson-middle-school/97334"}
