The fresh soil has helped us prepare the garden areas for continued planting and care, while the decorations have added bright pops of color and made the space more welcoming and inviting for students.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were excited to see how a few simple additions could make such a noticeable difference. They enjoyed choosing where to place the decorations and working together to give the outdoor classroom a more cheerful and cared-for appearance. It was wonderful to see them take pride in the space and recognize that their service was creating something that other students will be able to enjoy and use.\r\n\r\nThis project has also given our National Honor Society students a meaningful opportunity to practice teamwork, leadership, and responsibility. As they work with the garden, they are learning that community service is not always about one big project—it can also be about taking the time to care for and improve a shared space.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue maintaining the outdoor classroom, caring for the garden areas, and finding additional ways to make the space a useful and inviting extension of the classroom. We hope our students will continue to take ownership of this space and that future National Honor Society members will build on the work they have started.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful to our donors for providing these supplies. Your generosity has helped our students turn the outdoor classroom into a brighter, more inviting space while giving them a hands-on opportunity to serve their school community.","fullyFundedDate":1779997509466,"projectUrl":"project/colorful-additions-to-our-outdoor-classr/10207166/","projectTitle":"Colorful Additions to our Outdoor Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. S.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2755554_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1784670109461","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2755554"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_100778","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":868,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":32,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":60,"percentIndigenous":5,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":7,"gradesServed":"4 - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"24.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":91.5,"schoolId":100778,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Riverton Intermediate School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Riverton Intermediate School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alabama/madison-county-school-district/riverton-intermediate-school/100778"}
