It has been inspiring to see their enthusiasm grow as they work with high-quality materials that encourage hands-on learning and innovative thinking.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in their potential. Because of your support, my 4th graders now have a variety of engaging board games, puzzles, and activities that make every rainy or too-hot day something to look forward to.\r\n\r\nThe first day the materials arrived was pure joy. The students' eyes lit up as we unpacked UNO cards, Twister, Jenga, Connect 4, Guess Who, Play-Doh, and bracelet kits. Many of them had never played some of these games before, and they were immediately eager to try them all. Laughter filled the room as they challenged each other to Connect 4 matches, worked together to solve puzzles, and created colorful bracelets to share with friends. It was such a beautiful reminder that learning and teamwork can happen in so many ways beyond traditional lessons.\r\n\r\nThese new resources have truly transformed our indoor recess time. Instead of feeling restless or bored, students are practicing communication, patience, critical thinking, and cooperation through play. One memorable moment was when a small group of students created a mini \"Game Tournament,\" complete with scoreboards and prizes made from Play-Doh—they even made a rule that everyone had to cheer for one another, win or lose!\r\n\r\nAs for our next steps, my students are currently working on a social-emotional learning unit focused on teamwork and problem-solving. These games have become a perfect hands-on extension of those lessons, giving students daily opportunities to apply what they're learning about collaboration, respect, and empathy in a natural, fun way.\r\n\r\nYour kindness didn't just bring games—it brought joy, connection, and confidence to a group of students who truly needed it. Thank you for believing in our classroom and helping create moments of laughter and learning that we will cherish all year long.","fullyFundedDate":1752257412738,"projectUrl":"project/lets-bring-the-fun-inside-screen-free/9442570/","projectTitle":"Let's Bring the Fun Inside: Screen-free Games for Indoor Recess!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Minaya","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8075763_orig.jpg?crop=1179,1179,x0,y149&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723328574245","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8075763"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46727","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":526,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":49,"percentWhite":14,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":28,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":73.2,"schoolId":46727,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Riverside Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Riverside Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/orange-county-public-schools/riverside-elementary-school/46727"}
