The recent acquisition of new resources has been a significant boost to our classroom environment, enabling us to create a more interactive, inclusive, and supportive space.\r\n\r\nOne of the most impactful resources has been the whiteboard easel. This versatile tool has allowed us to create engaging lessons and promote collaborative learning. In a recent social-emotional learning activity, students worked in teams to brainstorm ways to manage stress and anxiety. They wrote their ideas on the easel, shared with the class, and discussed the benefits of each strategy. The easel's flexibility enabled students to move around, write, and share their thoughts, fostering a sense of ownership and agency.\r\n\r\nWhen they first saw the easel, they were excited and eager to use it. One student exclaimed, \"This is like a big, interactive poster!\" They loved being able to take turns, write, and share their thoughts. The easel has become a central hub for our classroom discussions, encouraging active participation and creativity.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the easel, the Lysol wipes and hand sanitizer have been essential in maintaining a clean and healthy classroom environment. As a special education teacher, I understand the importance of creating a safe and hygienic space for my students. These resources have enabled us to establish routines and practices that promote good hygiene habits, reducing the risk of illness and absenteeism.\r\n\r\nThe tissues and snacks have also been a welcome addition to our classroom. The tissues have ensured that students can focus on learning without discomfort, while the snacks have provided a much-needed energy boost. We've been using the snacks to reinforce positive behaviors and celebrate small victories, which has been a great motivator for my students.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we're excited to continue exploring new ways to use these resources. Next steps include using the easel to create a collaborative goal-setting project, where students will set and track their academic and personal goals. We'll also continue to incorporate music and movement activities to support their social-emotional learning.\r\n\r\nThe generosity of our donors has made a significant impact on our classroom, and we're grateful for their support. By contributing to our project, they've gotten a glimpse into our classroom and the ways in which we're working to support our students' growth. We're committed to continuing to create a nurturing and inclusive environment, where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.\r\n\r\nOverall, the new resources have been a valuable addition to our classroom, enabling us to create a more engaging, interactive, and supportive learning environment. As a special education teacher, I'm committed to continuing to seek out innovative ways to support my students' growth and development. With the help of our donors and these new resources, we're confident that we'll continue to make a positive impact on our students' lives.","fullyFundedDate":1757131151563,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-young-minds-one-supply-at-a/9662264/","projectTitle":"\"Empowering Young Minds, One Supply at a Time\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bryan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9801298"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_105037","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":98,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":65,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":27,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"8.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":105037,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Riverdale Avenue Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Riverdale Avenue Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/riverdale-avenue-middle-school/105037"}
