This class has always leaned towards the sciences and this past year was no exception. Because of your support, my 6th grade art students (and all of the classes that will follow) are getting to learn about, and experience, an entirely new art form. The supplies for Chinese brush painting have been going a long way and the work created has been much admired.\r\nThe students began by learning how to hold the brush properly and to experiment with adding water to the sumie ink to achieve various values of grayscale. They then learned how to create a landscape as well as create beautiful floral designs. I'm so glad they had the opportunity to be exposed to this medium and look forward to becoming more knowledgeable myself.
