The new seating options have made a tremendous difference in our classroom and have quickly become one of our students' favorite resources. Many of my students thrive when they have choices, and the addition of flexible seating has allowed them to select learning spaces where they feel comfortable, safe, and ready to learn. From working independently on floor cushions to collaborating with peers in our flexible seating areas, students are using these resources every day to create learning environments that work best for them.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students eagerly explored the different seating options and were thrilled to have choices in where and how they learn. One of the most noticeable changes has been an increase in student focus and engagement. Many students who previously struggled to remain attentive during independent work are now able to sustain their attention for longer periods because they are seated in a space that better meets their individual needs. The flexible seating has also encouraged greater independence, as students are learning to recognize what environment helps them be their most successful selves.\r\n\r\nPossibly the greatest impact has been the boost in confidence and overall success we have seen across our classroom. Students feel valued when they are trusted to make decisions about their learning environment, and that sense of ownership has translated into increased participation, improved work completion, and greater perseverance with challenging tasks. As we continue to use these resources, we are excited to incorporate them into small-group instruction, independent reading, and collaborative learning activities. Your generosity has helped create a classroom where students feel comfortable, focused, and empowered to succeed, and for that we are incredibly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1752505848027,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/9306780/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Morton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9308348_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746128913309","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9308348"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_38291","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":920,"numTeachers":39,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":52,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":13,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"23.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.8,"schoolId":38291,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rio Seco Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rio Seco Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/santee-school-district/rio-seco-elementary-school/38291"}
