Since adding these sensory items to my classroom: one of my students has been able to participate in circle time more beneficially for him and It has allowed him to interact and participate in circle time activities and whole group. He uses the swivel chair every day it allows him to attend to his sensory needs while still being part of the group and participating. \r\nThe sensory strips we have sit around the room at every center area in our classroom. We have a student that came in that is fully blind. We use these sensory strips to guide her and it helps her see which area she is about to touch based on the different sensory strips. We also use them to transitions with my class so they can fill their sensory need while we are transiting from area to area. \r\nWe use the calming bottles are rotation in our discover center as well as calming tools in our calm down corner. The students are really loving these. We have one that comes in every morning goes right over and grabs his favorite and carries it all day. In my class, I have them use any and every sensory item that helps them learn more efficiently and effectively. This allows them to be involved and feel in control of their learning once those sensory needs are all met. \r\nWe are very grateful to everyone that helped us reach our goals.
