LEGOs provide a unique and invaluable learning experience for young students, fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and collaboration in a fun and engaging way. Through hands-on building activities, children develop spatial reasoning, fine motor skills, and an understanding of basic engineering principles. Whether following instructions to construct a specific model or making book settings and characters, the children's creativity is unstoppable. \r\n\r\nMoreover, LEGO kits offer a versatile platform for cross-curricular learning. Teachers incorporate LEGOs into math lessons to explore concepts like measurement, geometry, and fractions. In science, LEGOs can be used to build models of simple machines, demonstrate physical principles, or even create miniature ecosystems. Language arts can also benefit, with students using LEGOs to create storyboards, act out scenes from books, or develop their own narratives. The possibilities are endless, and the hands-on nature of LEGOs ensures that learning is both memorable and enjoyable. By investing in LEGO kits for our classrooms, we are investing in a dynamic and effective tool that will empower students to become creative thinkers, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners.\r\n\r\nBesides the use of Legos here in our library, teachers are able to check out the kits for special Lego building days. Your funding of this project has benefited all students at our school. We are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1732547464280,"projectUrl":"project/learning-with-legos-stories-and-engine/8959630/","projectTitle":"Learning with LEGOs, Stories, and Engineering!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reininga","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3364710_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1449865906910","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3364710"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_94558","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":836,"numTeachers":49,"percentFrplEligible":12,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":65,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":19,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"17.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.8,"schoolId":94558,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Riggs Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Riggs Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/chandler-unified-school-district-80/riggs-elementary-school/94558"}
