Your contribution is directly helping us create an essential, dedicated space where our students can prioritize their well-being and emotional readiness for learning. We know that students can only truly thrive and embrace a growth mindset when they are regulated. This calming corner is the crucial first step, setting the foundation for every child to focus, engage, and ultimately achieve academic success. Your support allows us to move beyond simply managing behavior and instead focus on teaching powerful self-regulation skills.\r\n\r\nThe dedicated space we are establishing—integrated beautifully with our art area—will offer a variety of thoughtful activities for students to decompress and find their center. Thanks to your generosity, we are able to supply tangible tools like soothing fidgets, intricate zen tangle coloring sheets, and individual zen gardens. These gardens are especially important: they allow students to practice focused mindfulness and centeredness in the very moment of frustration, helping them create awareness of how they are truly feeling. By giving students a peaceful outlet to regulate their emotions, we are not just calming them down—we are actively teaching them the skills necessary to manage stress and return to their lessons ready to embrace challenges. This project is a direct investment in the long-term emotional literacy and resilience of our school community.\r\n\r\nWe look forward to sharing pictures of the completed Zen Calm Classroom and the positive, measurable impact it will have on our students' day-to-day lives.","fullyFundedDate":1753399219559,"projectUrl":"project/zen-calm/9485766/","projectTitle":"Zen Calm","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nakamura-Stein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2608720_orig.jpg?crop=1527,1528,x0,y774&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1630707458161","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-nakamurastein"},{"teacherId":2608720,"projectId":9217307,"letterContent":"I am writing to express our profound gratitude for your support of our project. Because of your investment, our students are engaging with the curriculum in ways we previously could only dream of, moving far beyond rote memorization to genuine Demonstrate Deeper Understanding. The resources you provided have empowered them to act as active historians and researchers, learning to Think Critically by analyzing primary and secondary sources, evaluating conflicting perspectives, and constructing their own evidence-based conclusions. This shift has not only made learning more meaningful but has instilled an essential academic rigor that will benefit them in all future coursework.\r\n\r\nThe most transformative change has been the development of essential twenty-first-century skills. Our students are now regularly tasked with project-based learning that requires them to Problem-Solve Creatively. This includes activities like designing and building historical artifacts or developing innovative solutions to complex historical challenges. Crucially, these tasks are carried out as a team, fostering exceptional skills in Collaborate Effectively. Students must work together to research, plan, delegate tasks, and execute large-scale projects, developing the communication and teamwork abilities that are vital for success in college and career environments.\r\n\r\nYour commitment is more than just a donation of materials; it is an investment in our students' future success and career readiness. Thank you for recognizing the potential in our classroom and helping us create a dynamic, inquiry-based environment where students are empowered to own their learning. The impact of your generosity will continue to resonate long after this school year ends as these students carry their strengthened critical thinking and collaboration skills forward.","fullyFundedDate":1743351003247,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-history/9217307/","projectTitle":"Hands On History","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nakamura-Stein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2608720_orig.jpg?crop=1527,1528,x0,y774&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1630707458161","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-nakamurastein"},{"teacherId":8963243,"projectId":8768563,"letterContent":"We have been able to start the roll-out of the gaming equipment for this project.
