They excitedly chose their favorite spots; cozying up in the calm down corner corners, sitting in our rocking chairs reading, or just playing in their \"play based learning\" stations with sensory bins and magnet tiles. Using interactive literacy stations, students practiced spelling CVC words, number and letter identification, and so much more, which encouraged both independence and confidence.\r\n\r\nThe students' reactions when they first saw the materials were priceless—they were curious, excited, and eager to dive right in. One memorable moment was when a small group collaborated at the math station, using counting blocks to solve simple addition problems, smiling and cheering each other on. It was clear these resources made learning fun and accessible for all.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll continue building on this project by integrating more creative play and exploration. Students will use art supplies to create self-portraits and share their unique stories with the class, deepening social-emotional skills and fostering community. Thanks to your support, these young learners are thriving in a classroom that truly meets their needs and inspires their natural curiosity.","fullyFundedDate":1755030730180,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-cozy-curious-classroom-for/9422695/","projectTitle":"Creating a Cozy & Curious Classroom for K/1 Explorers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Panaroni","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2717987_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1487897814407","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2717987"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_44050","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":415,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":23,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":44050,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ridge Road Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ridge Road Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/north-haven-public-schools/ridge-road-elementary-school/44050"}
