The materials you provided allowed every student to participate in a hands-on investigation that aligned with our life science unit on food webs, skeletal systems, and predator-prey relationships. As soon as the owl pellets arrived, the students were eager to dig in (literally) and see what they could uncover. For many of them, this was their very first time doing a real dissection, and the sense of excitement and ownership over their learning was unforgettable.\r\n\r\nWe used the dissection as a way to reinforce key science standards and develop skills like observation, inference, and evidence-based reasoning. Students carefully broke apart the pellets, identified the bones, and used charts to reconstruct skeletons of prey animals like rodents and birds. It became a full-class collaborative experience, where students worked in teams, recorded findings, and shared discoveries. One student even said, \"I feel like a real scientist!\"—and that's exactly what I hoped they'd walk away with.","fullyFundedDate":1739282319523,"projectUrl":"project/leap-into-learning-frog-dissection-for/9091717/","projectTitle":"Leap Into Learning: Frog Dissection for Future Scientists","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Newsome","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9513027"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_121357","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":276,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":95,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":52.6,"schoolId":121357,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Resurgence Hall Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Resurgence Hall Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/georgia-department-of-education/resurgence-hall-charter-school/121357"}
