While we have had an acoustic piano in our room for many years, it has only been tuned once in my tenure at the school and takes up a huge amount of space in our classroom. The digital keyboard will never have the extra cost of being tuned and will have a smaller footprint in a room where space is limited. Another plus is that I can sit at the keyboard and see all the children in their spots, adding to my ability to manage behaviors in the classroom as I play. The life of an elementary music teacher is all about multitasking and making the most of every minute kids spend in music. Resources to do both these things are always appreciate. The biggest impact has been when a child comes in hungry, I have been able to give them something to eat that is healthy and allows them to work, rather then worry about food. I have one kiddo that loves the cereal bars and ask for them almost daily.\r\nThe sensory tools have been amazing as well. They have been used throughout the day in many ways. Some kids gravitate toward the hands on items and some toward the calming tools.
