I want their sketchbooks to be a place where they can experiment and make mistakes without worrying about creating a perfect final artwork. Sometimes the best ideas start with a simple sketch!\r\n\r\nMost importantly, having these supplies available means I don't have to worry about a student missing an opportunity to participate because they could not provide their own sketchbook. It has added so much to our lessons. My students lit up when they saw it for the first time. They love when it is their turn to play. \r\nEach student has gotten the opportunity to play an ostinato on it while the class sings. They also have used it in a rotation with our other instruments. The basses certainly are one of the most audible. They especially love that the bass metallaphone makes the snare drums play themselves. The new resources purchased were used to help students stay actively engaged in our lessons. We were also able to incorporate more hands on projects for the students to complete such as making S'Mores as we explored different forms of energy (heat energy from the Sun to melt S'Mores).\r\n\r\nI was also able to use the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to purchase various sets of task cards, project based learning projects, and math/science escape room activities.
