Our 4th grade mentors and their kindergarten reading buddies have been using the new materials to prepare for their end-of-year Bluey-themed celebration, which honors the months they've spent reading, learning, and growing together. Of course, we had to have this celebration BEFORE state testing started as we are testing up until the end of the school year. One of the most meaningful moments happened when the kindergarten students saw the decorations and themed items for the first time—their faces lit up with excitement as they recognized their favorite characters and realized the party was being created just for them. The older students felt just as proud, knowing they helped build strong reading skills and friendships along the way. As we move forward, students will continue working together on reading activities and small craft projects that will become keepsakes from the celebration. The party will be a joyful finale where mentors and buddies reflect on the progress they made, share treats, exchange small gifts, and celebrate a year filled with literacy, teamwork, and kindness. The Air Purifier filters purchased have been used in my classroom to help keep germs and dust filtered out of the air. This helps my students to stay healthy while participating in classroom activities.\r\n\r\nThe air purifier runs during the day to filter air in my classroom with transitions of two sets of 45 students a day. My students and I are very dishearted, but we did have enough stamps to write our Thanksgiving letters to our families. I'm hoping that the other stamp and postcard project will be able to be funded not only for our new program we are going to be a part of, but also to send to our families for Winter Break. \r\n\r\nMy students and their families are excited to receive mail.
