Using these high-interest colorful materials will enhance the chances of my students increasing their functional communication skills to a level that will carry over into all areas of their lives. I will use the color paper to make high-frequency words and letter/sound worksheets so that my students can work on them during independent center work time. (Yes, my third graders still need centers like this!) Since my students are at different academic levels, I break them up by groups. Each group is assigned a color and then worksheet copies are made on the assigned color paper. Since my students will work on these independently, they will know which color copy to get based on their group color.
