With the new books that tie into our reading curriculum and engaging literacy centers, students are eager to dive into stories, practice early reading skills, and collaborate with their classmates. I already see their confidence building as they proudly recognize letters, sounds, and words during center time. Learning feels like play, and the excitement and they've become more motivated to keep trying and learning. I have been very busy leading our before- and after-school reading and math program, working to provide extra support for students who need it most. Please know that your generosity has been on my mind every day as I watch my students benefit from these wonderful resources.\r\n\r\nWe use the new materials daily. The stools have become such a favorite that I ended up purchasing two more because students love using them so much during independent and small-group work. The privacy dividers have been amazing, giving students a quiet space to focus without distractions. The new whiteboard has helped clear space on my main board and now proudly displays our weekly vocabulary words. Best of all, the books are used every single day during independent reading, small groups, and literacy centers.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were thrilled. Their faces lit up as they explored the new seating, books, and learning tools. They immediately wanted to try everything out and couldn't wait to use them in their daily routines. It was wonderful to see how excited they were to learn.\r\n\r\nOne moment that stands out was during our reading workshop. Several students chose to sit on the new stools with their books and dividers, fully engaged and focused. They were so proud of their \"new learning space\" and commented on how it helped them concentrate and enjoy reading even more.\r\n\r\nCurrently, my students are working on strengthening their vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills through guided reading, literacy centers, and independent projects. These resources continue to support their growth as they set goals, track progress, and challenge themselves as readers and writers.\r\n\r\nI would also like to share my sincere appreciation with Governor Meyer, the Delaware General Assembly, and the Delaware Department of Education for supporting this project. The materials have strengthened my students' literacy skills by creating a more focused, comfortable, and engaging learning environment. Students are reading more, building confidence, and taking greater ownership of their learning. Your support has helped close learning gaps and foster a love of reading that will benefit them far beyond this school year.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and investing in their success. Your generosity truly goes a long way, and we are thankful every day for the opportunities you have provided.\r\n\r\nWith sincere appreciation,\r\nTina Windsor","fullyFundedDate":1760713204917,"projectUrl":"project/its-the-little-things-that-go-a-long-wa/9831482/","projectTitle":"It's the Little Things That Go a Long Way!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Windsor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10313124"},{"teacherId":4038768,"projectId":9821727,"letterContent":"Because of your generous support, my 4th grade students now have access to engaging reading games and activities that have transformed the way they approach literacy. These materials have made reading practice fun, interactive, and meaningful, especially for students who previously struggled with confidence and motivation.\r\n\r\nThe games allow students to strengthen essential skills such as comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and critical thinking while working collaboratively with their peers. Students are more willing to take risks, participate in discussions, and persevere through challenging texts because learning feels like play rather than a task.\r\n\r\nThese resources have been especially impactful during small-group instruction, where students can receive targeted support while staying actively engaged. I've already seen growth in student participation, stamina, and enthusiasm for reading.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping create a classroom where every child feels excited, supported, and capable as a reader. Your contribution is making a tremendous difference for my students and the way they learn each day.\r\nIn our Thinking Classroom, students work together to solve problems, think critically, and communicate their ideas with confidence. The resources you helped provide—our classroom carpet, flexible floor seats, books, and the Create-A-Chain Reaction STEM Kit—are transforming our room into an engaging, comfortable, and collaborative learning space.\r\nThese materials are already helping strengthen our focus on reading, writing, and building literacy across the science curriculum. With flexible seating, students can gather in small groups to read informational texts, and take notes during investigations. The hands-on STEM tools spark curiosity and deeper conversations, giving students authentic opportunities to practice academic language and translate their observations into clear written claims supported by evidence.\r\nBecause of your support, my students are not only becoming stronger scientists—they are growing as readers and writers. They are learning to analyze complex texts, structure arguments, and use scientific vocabulary.
