Reading in our library means confidence building, one page at a time. The new texts you provided support readers at every stage of development, and all of the new titles are already being borrowed from the library!\r\n\r\nOur developing readers are thriving with the Pigeon books. The repetition and dialogue help students practice fluency and develop comprehension skills. These books allow emerging readers to be successful when they can read the whole book all by themselves.\r\n\r\nOur reluctant readers are being drawn in by high-interest books. Graphic novels like The Baby-Sitters Club strengthen comprehension while making reading feel accessible and fun. Fast-paced adventures like the Percy Jackson series captivate students who might otherwise struggle to stay engaged, helping them build stamina and excitement for longer texts.\r\n\r\nOne of the most impactful additions has been Harry Potter in both English and Spanish. In our school, many students primarily speak Spanish at home. Having these stories available in both languages ensures that all students can grow as readers. It builds literacy, strengthens vocabulary in both languages, and allows students to share stories with family members. Seeing a child light up when they discover a favorite book in their home language is something truly special.\r\n\r\nThese books are more than replacements for worn copies. They are tools for teaching fluency, comprehension, and the joy of reading. They are helping students take risks, try new genres, and discover that reading can be an adventure for them. Thank you for investing in our readers.","fullyFundedDate":1768956049788,"projectUrl":"project/new-copies-of-old-favorite-books/9909815/","projectTitle":"New Copies of Old Favorite Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Franklin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10357491_orig.jpg?crop=1500,1500,x320,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764095923635","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10357491"},{"teacherId":1052736,"projectId":7080097,"letterContent":"I can't thank you enough for supporting my classroom! When the magnetic letters and dry-erase boards arrived, my students were so excited—they couldn't wait to dive in. One student even shouted, \"This is like word LEGOs!\" It was such a fun and genuine moment, and I knew right then these tools were going to make a big impact.\r\n\r\nWe've been using them in small groups, and they've completely changed how some of my learners engage with phonics. Now my tactile kiddos—who really need to touch and move things to make sense of sounds—can tap out words, slide the magnetic letters into place, and then write them on their boards. I've already seen a boost in confidence and participation, especially from the kids who usually sit back during whole-group lessons.\r\n\r\nNext up, we'll be using these tools for some word-building challenges and vowel team games. It's been so exciting to see my students light up when learning finally \"clicks\" for them.
