Our mini clipboards are being used to hold individualized visual supports, including visual schedules and first-then boards, giving students a portable and consistent way to understand what is happening next. Dry erase markers have also become a wonderful alternative to traditional pencils, allowing students to practice academic skills in a way that is more accessible and engaging for their individual needs. Even the Clorox wipes have become part of our learning! Students use them daily and are encouraged to help clean their own tables, turning an everyday classroom routine into an opportunity to practice responsibility and independence. Adaptive scissors are used almost daily for hands-on activities and crafts, including projects like the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activity pictured. These tools allow students with different motor abilities to participate more independently alongside their peers.\r\n\r\nThe carpet spots have brought movement and sensory input into our learning. Students use them while practicing counting and one-to-one correspondence, turning an academic skill into something they can physically see, touch, and experience. Our recordable buttons have become an important low-tech communication tool for students learning AAC. They allow us to practice words and concepts in a simple one-to-one setting while giving students another way to communicate and be heard.\r\n\r\nWhat may look like small classroom tools are creating big opportunities for independence, communication, and success. My students received new chairs and they are no longer able to tip in their chairs promoting safety yet giving them a little bounce!\r\nThe wiggily writers were a big hit this morning the first time we used them. The students were so excited to complete their activity. They are enjoying writing so much.\r\nThe sensory bins with books are a spectacular addition to our library with coordinating books.
