Many of my students already have a personal connection to the language, but they don't always feel confident using it in academic or professional settings. Reading different kinds of texts—stories, articles, and cultural pieces—helps them see themselves reflected while also expanding their understanding of the world.\r\n\r\nThrough regular reading and writing practice, students build fluency and learn how to express their ideas clearly in Spanish. This not only strengthens their confidence but also prepares them for future goals, whether that's earning a degree or pursuing a career where bilingual skills are an advantage. Exposure to diverse texts gives them the vocabulary, perspective, and real-world language skills they'll need beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nWe are doing a unit where they have to choose a book and to analyze the parts and to create a 'book' review to offer to other students. This encourages choice when selecting their book, helps practice skills in spelling and offers recommendations to future students. Several students are enjoying books that they can seem themselves in as well as many of the action themes.","fullyFundedDate":1767179977929,"projectUrl":"project/books-we-cant-wait-to-read/9895044/","projectTitle":"Books, We Can't Wait to Read!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Holien","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10071608_orig.jpg?crop=904,904,x132,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751833019530","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10071608"},{"teacherId":10071608,"projectId":9882057,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donations of books and snacks to our heritage learners class.
