The newsletter brings new and interesting information to them and opens up other worlds. They love to use the digital aspect of SN as it has additional activities that really solidify their learning.\r\n\r\nThe ability to get the variety of materials, only enhances my student's learning, my classroom and my entire school. The focus of this project was on prizes to give to students who got the top scores on a recent exam as well as prizes for most improved, as a way to make sure any student could win something.\r\n\r\nAfter the 1st exam, I gave away 3 of the items from this project as well as another 2 which I purchased on my own. I combined all of the items into a large box and let each winning student choose. One boy chose the car lego set, one girl chose the flower lego set and another girl chose new headphones. I think I am correct in predicting that the existence of these gifts motivates students to study and excel in math class.\r\n\r\nThey were very excited to claim the prizes and they are already asking about the next exam.\r\n\r\nI should add that I will not be providing photos or written notes. Photos seem risky in 2025 and also, asking a student to write (and mail?) a note about their prize seems a bit weird. You will have to just take my word that these prizes were appreciated and there are still many remaining for the next exam. The new printer has allowed my students to literally see math come to life. Instead of only viewing problems on a screen, they now have access to colorful graphic organizers, differentiated worksheets, anchor charts, station materials, and hands-on manipulatives that I can print on demand. Many of my donors know technology well at home, but in a classroom, this printer becomes a learning engine—helping me create visuals that build confidence, support different learning styles, and make math feel concrete rather than abstract. Students who used to feel lost with word problems are now connecting ideas because the graphics and printed guides help them break down each step clearly.\r\nWhat excites my students most is the sense of ownership. They love receiving their personalized practice sheets, math notebooks with printed templates, and color-coded review pages that match our learning goals. For many of them, math has suddenly become more fun—and more accessible—because the materials feel made just for them. A few students who normally struggle to stay engaged are now asking, \"Can you print me another one so I can practice at home?\" One student in particular who rarely participated has become one of the most eager learners in the room simply because the printed visuals help her follow along with confidence.\r\nYour gift didn't just provide a printer; it provided opportunity, access, and joy. Thank you for believing in our students and helping us create a learning environment where every child can see, touch, and experience math in a way that makes sense to them. We are deeply grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1757683191599,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-math-to-life-with-a-classroom-p/9592551/","projectTitle":"Bringing Math to Life with a Classroom Printer","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Natividad","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10175927"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_1671","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1212,"numTeachers":59,"percentFrplEligible":48,"percentAsian":12,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":29,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":27,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.6,"schoolId":1671,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Randolph Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Randolph Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/charlotte-mecklenburg-school-district/randolph-middle-school/1671"}
