The focus of this project was on prizes to give to students who got the top scores on a recent exam as well as prizes for most improved, as a way to make sure any student could win something.\r\n\r\nAfter the 1st exam, I gave away 3 of the items from this project as well as another 2 which I purchased on my own. I combined all of the items into a large box and let each winning student choose. One boy chose the car lego set, one girl chose the flower lego set and another girl chose new headphones. I think I am correct in predicting that the existence of these gifts motivates students to study and excel in math class.\r\n\r\nThey were very excited to claim the prizes and they are already asking about the next exam.\r\n\r\nI should add that I will not be providing photos or written notes. Photos seem risky in 2025 and also, asking a student to write (and mail?) a note about their prize seems a bit weird. You will have to just take my word that these prizes were appreciated and there are still many remaining for the next exam.
