Actually since out grant was funded and the items came we have had more 7th graders work to earn the opportunity to go outside on Friday because they actually have something to do when they go outside. Sitting on the bleachers just did not excite them! They love being able to be active with their friends! Thank you so much for allowing me to offer these items for them to provide some physical activity for them throughout the week that is not organized. They can use the items and just play with them how they wish. Getting this grant funded has helped two-fold. it has helped our students become more active and it has helped them reach their academic goals because they now have something they want to work towards! Thank you is just not even close enough to show our appreciation! It is so nice to be able to see them excel both in and outside of the classroom! Many of my students used to complain when I asked them to solve a challenging problem. After receiving these materials, I was able to put a new spin on things and students were more apt to put in the effort to solve the problem, they were able to see the benefit in perseverance and this game helps to build those thinking skills.\r\nWhen my students saw the boxes in my room, they were curious as to what was in them! When we opened them and they saw a game they never played before they were super excited. When they realized they were building there mathematical problem solving skills there were so excited! Students begged to play this game almost daily if we had time left in class. Thank YOU for helping me restore a love of math in many of my students who had lost that joy! Seeing the excitement in their face and hearing the tone of their voice when they were able to complete a task was satisfaction to my ears. This game has completely changed they way I go about teaching problem solving to my students!
