As we organized and distributed the supplies, it created an opportunity to walk students through what each item is for and why preparedness matters. Instead of it feeling scary, it became a conversation about responsibility, awareness, and taking care of one another. Students were genuinely curious—asking questions, making connections, and even sharing how they could apply similar ideas at home. It turned into a real-world learning moment that went beyond academics.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were a mix of excitement and curiosity. Many of them immediately recognized that these resources were something important and different from our typical classroom supplies. It reinforced for them that their environment is being thoughtfully prepared with their safety in mind. That sense of care and structure helps build trust, which directly impacts their ability to focus and engage in learning each day.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these materials will continue to be part of our classroom routines and conversations. We plan to revisit preparedness throughout the year, connecting it to responsibility, problem-solving, and real-life situations. This project has helped us take a proactive step in creating a safe and supportive learning environment, allowing students to focus on growing academically while knowing they are cared for beyond just the lesson.","fullyFundedDate":1772550488637,"projectUrl":"project/prepared-protected-campus-wide-safety/10118262/","projectTitle":"Prepared & Protected: Campus-Wide Safety Buckets for Every Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Deen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8589533_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715309030387","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8589533"},{"teacherId":9082976,"projectId":9696452,"letterContent":"On behalf of our coaches and student-athletes, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of the camcorder and professional stand. \r\n\r\nYour support provides a vital tool in helping our students reach their full potential. In athletics, success often comes down to the smallest adjustments, and having the ability to review \"the tape\" is a total game-changer for our programs.\r\n\r\nHow Your Gift Is Making an Impact:\r\n*Technique Mastery: Coaches across all grade levels are now using the equipment to break down physical skills in real-time. Whether it's perfecting a swing, a stride, or a shot, students can finally see exactly what they're doing and how to improve.\r\n*Performance Review: We are recording both practice sessions and live games against other teams. This allows our athletes to analyze their progress, celebrate their growth, and strategize for future competition.\r\n*Visual Learning: For many students, seeing a replay is much more effective than a verbal correction. Your gift has bridged the gap between instruction and execution.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and for believing in the power of sport to teach discipline and excellence. We are excited to see the progress our athletes make this season with this new technology by their side.","fullyFundedDate":1758802209677,"projectUrl":"project/seeing-your-potential/9696452/","projectTitle":"Seeing Your Potential","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tippit","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9082976_orig.jpg?crop=548,548,x0,y29&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757704160892","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9082976"},{"teacherId":8589533,"projectId":9477636,"letterContent":"The \"It's Magnetic!\" project has had an incredible impact in our classroom. Having magnetic materials available has completely transformed the way we interact with content during lessons. Instead of only looking at examples on a screen or worksheet, students are able to physically manipulate pieces, move them around, and actively participate in solving problems at the board.\r\n\r\nThis hands-on approach has made learning far more engaging for students. I have seen increased participation during lessons, especially from students who are typically more hesitant to volunteer. The magnetic materials allow students to collaborate, explain their thinking, and visually demonstrate their understanding in real time. It has also made it easier for me to model problem-solving strategies and adjust instruction based on what students are showing me during the lesson.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest impacts has been student engagement. The moment magnetic pieces come out, students are eager to participate and contribute to the lesson. It has helped turn abstract concepts into something students can physically interact with and understand.\r\n\r\nThis resource has become a regular and valuable part of our daily instruction, and it has truly helped bring learning to life in our classroom. Thank you for making this possible for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1757560690820,"projectUrl":"project/its-magnetic/9477636/","projectTitle":"It’s MAGNETIC!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Deen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8589533_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715309030387","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8589533"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_13057","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":860,"numTeachers":103,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":20,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":60,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"8.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.8,"schoolId":13057,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about R.D.
