My students were thrilled when we received our very first September issue. The magazines are visually appealing, full of engaging topics, and immediately caught their attention.\r\n\r\nWe started by exploring the article on what schools are like in Colombia, Peru, Cuba, and Argentina. Students worked on the accompanying worksheets from our digital subscription, comparing school life in those countries to their own experiences. The authentic photos and cultural details sparked meaningful discussions and helped them use Spanish in a real-world context.\r\n\r\nWhat amazed me most was how their excitement carried beyond the planned activity. Many students were eager to explore other articles, especially the one about Poké Latinos. They were so engaged that we spent a few unexpected minutes reading and sharing opinions on that topic—something I hadn't even planned for that day!\r\n\r\nYour support made this authentic and inspiring experience possible. Because of you, my students are discovering that learning Spanish is more than vocabulary—it's a window into the real, diverse, and vibrant world of Latin American culture.","fullyFundedDate":1755705103646,"projectUrl":"project/voices-that-matter-bringing-spanish-to/9483749/","projectTitle":"Voices That Matter: Bringing Spanish to Life Through Magazines","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Perez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10086671_orig.jpg?crop=1170,1170,x0,y124&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753837138530","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10086671"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_134431","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":null,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":25,"percentWhite":46,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":false,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":60.0,"schoolId":134431,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Quality Education Academy - High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Quality Education Academy - High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/north-carolina-department-of-education/quality-education-academy-high-school/134431"}
