It has been a struggle to get my students interested and involved in their learning, and especially with math concepts. I started getting the packages delivered to my classroom, and instantly, there was interest. \"What is that, Ms. Gardner?\" One of my seventh graders asked. \"Ooh, what did you get?\" Another chimed in. There was a mystery, and my students wanted to solve it! I used the opportunity to tell them that these were for them, but only if they solved the mystery of their math... About half the class got immediately to work, while the other half tried one more time to wheedle more details out of me. (They did work on the math afterward.)\r\n\r\nThank you so much for making this possible for my students. The incentives made a difference in my class and for these students. One student flat out told me that they would not have completed or worked on their math otherwise, because they just didn't care. That same student went on to grow and help their classmates with their understanding of math - teaching them how to complete certain problems and informing them of what some of the vocabulary terms meant! Watching that turn around was made possible by your help. \r\n\r\nThe opportunity to make math fun with prizes, and to have new mysteries added on a regular basis helped many students through more challenging concepts, and to seek help when needed. Knowing that there were people out there who supported them and helped them allowed others to become more confident. They had donors who were cheering them on! These thoughts and others were made known to me by my students, and they asked me to share them with you. \r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you.","fullyFundedDate":1731283358153,"projectUrl":"project/motivation-to-achieve/8519009/","projectTitle":"Motivation to Achieve!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gardner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9607460"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_127873","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":373,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":69.6,"schoolId":127873,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy - Fate Campus on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy - Fate Campus","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/ptaa-fate-middle-and-high-school/127873"}
