For example, during a recent activity, students used fine-motor manipulatives and picture supports to follow multi-step directions and practice requesting items, which helped build both confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nThese resources have already made a difference by helping each student stay engaged and motivated during instruction. They create more opportunities for hands-on learning and positive interactions, which are so important in our special education setting.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue using these tools to support social-emotional learning and functional communication throughout the school day — from morning meetings to academic centers.
