As a new school, we started with nothing and your donation has helped us grow. We now have items that will help our students regulate themselves, store our materials, and new musical instruments! Before we received the bins, our instruments were everywhere! Now, students know to put materials away and it helps them set routines for clean up and set up.\r\n Students in a special education setting need different materials to help them learn. Our students strive when they have sensory items and physical items to touch. The sensory strips have helped to calm students down when they are in crisis. They love having them on their folders and on the desks to help them when needed. Many of our students also need visuals. The colorful timer has helped the students see how much time they have left. They struggle telling time so this has been a great addition. They also all love the posters. They were very excited to see them in the room! \r\n My students love the hand drums and the scarves. The drums help them hit something other than the desk (which they were doing before). They know can play on actual instruments! Also, the scarves help them visualize movements that they struggled with before. They can move the scarf up, down, side to side, and around in circles. It really helped in our high and low unit.","fullyFundedDate":1752586476250,"projectUrl":"project/do-re-mi-fa-sol-excited-for-music/9337730/","projectTitle":"Do Re Mi Fa Sol Excited for Music","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Peknic","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9714163_orig.jpg?crop=700,700,x412,y470&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733925048247","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9714163"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_132676","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":89,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":23,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":73,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":79.3,"schoolId":132676,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS X643 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS X643","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/district-75-city-wide-programs/ps-x643/132676"}
