The early finishers now have a productive, inspiring and appropriate materials to use during this choice time. \r\n\r\nMy students were so excited to open the boxes and see what the new choice activities they would find inside. This offered a perfect opportunity for them to engage in meaningful sharing and inspire peer to peer communication. \r\n\r\nThe students who selected Play doh were \"cooking\" meals for their friends and teachers. Rolling out the dough and cutting it to make cookies and other treats to share. It is amazing to watch their imaginative play during choice time. \r\n\r\nThe students who chose Lego helped each other find pieces. They shared their finished projects with each other. Some students followed the directions to make their Lego project. Other students used the materials to create their own wild creations. \r\n\r\nBoth projects continue to help develop students fine motor skills and allow the opportunity for authentic conversation and sharing.
