The games, toys, and sensory materials you provided have become an essential part of our daily therapy routines, helping students build communication skills in ways that feel natural, engaging, and fun. We've used the new board games to practice turn-taking and social language, and the sensory tools have been wonderful for helping students regulate their bodies so they can participate more confidently. \r\n\r\nThe excitement on my students' faces the first time they walked in and saw the new materials was unforgettable. Several of them immediately asked, \"Are these for us?!\" and another student who is usually hesitant to participate jumped right in to explore the sensory bin. The presence of these tools instantly made the room feel more welcoming and accessible, and many students have been more motivated to communicate because the materials give them clear, fun ways to express their ideas.\r\n\r\nAs for what's next, we're continuing a unit focused on functional communication, asking for help, expressing preferences, and sharing ideas. The materials you donated will be central to this work. Students will be using the games to practice cooperative communication and the sensory items to support self-advocacy and emotional expression. Your generosity has opened the door to richer lessons and more meaningful interactions, and we can't wait to build on the momentum you've helped create. Thank you again for making such a lasting impact on our learning community!","fullyFundedDate":1760726239183,"projectUrl":"project/pretend-play-in-speech-therapy/9505492/","projectTitle":"Pretend Play in Speech Therapy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hasin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6906087_orig.jpg?crop=580,580,x170,y32&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1596029739321","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/harlemspeech"},{"teacherId":2502334,"projectId":9542632,"letterContent":"I cannot begin to express how grateful and helpful these gift certificates to TeachersPayTeachers really are to the learning of my students. Because of your generosity, we have received fidget tools, sensory supports, flexible seating, visual aids, etc.\r\n\r\nSince these materials arrived, I've seen a real difference in how my students engage and learn. For example, the fidget tools are helping several of my students better regulate their focus during independent work. One student who often struggles to sit still now uses a sensory toy, and I've noticed she stays on task for longer periods than before.\r\n\r\nThe visual aids and hands-on materials have also transformed how we tackle difficult concepts. We use them in small-group work, and students are acting out, building, and drawing ideas. On a social-emotional level, the flexible seating options allow students to choose where they feel most comfortable working, which empowers them. \r\n\r\nBecause of your support, I've already seen my students become more confident, more focused, and more willing to try challenging tasks. This doesn't just benefit their academic growth — it also boosts their self-esteem, and helps build a classroom community where every student feels seen and supported.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and investing in their growth.
