The supplies you helped provide are already making a meaningful difference in our daily routines and classroom projects.\r\n\r\nOne of the first things students noticed were the tennis balls for the chair legs. When we put them on together, students were amazed at how much quieter the room became when moving their chairs. It might seem like a small change, but reducing noise helps students stay focused during independent reading, writing, and group discussions. They were excited to help place them on the chairs and immediately noticed the difference!\r\n\r\nThe laminating sheets have been especially helpful for creating durable learning tools. I've already started laminating frequently used materials such as vocabulary cards, math practice sheets, and small group activity boards so students can use dry erase markers and reuse them throughout the week. This has made our centers more interactive and sustainable because we can use the same materials again and again.\r\n\r\nThe labels, sticky notes, magnets, and hooks are helping us keep our classroom organized. Students are now able to easily find materials, display their work on our boards, and participate in interactive activities. The magnets and push pins are already being used to display student writing and anchor charts, which makes students proud to see their work showcased.\r\n\r\nThe cleaning supplies—wipes, disinfectant spray, soap, tissues, and paper towels—have also made a big impact. They help us maintain a clean and healthy environment so students can focus on learning. Students are even helping take responsibility for keeping their workspace tidy by wiping down desks and organizing shared materials.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be using many of these materials to support our upcoming classroom projects and learning centers. The laminated resources will continue to support small group instruction and hands-on practice, while the labels and magnets will help us organize and display new student projects and anchor charts as we move into our next units.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable, prepared, and excited to learn. Thank you for investing in our classroom and for helping provide the tools that make learning possible every day!","fullyFundedDate":1764697586060,"projectUrl":"project/short-on-supplies-for-our-students/9581861/","projectTitle":"Short on Supplies for our Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. OGrady","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7235083_orig.jpg?crop=1112,1112,x0,y151&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1590093439413","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msogradyrocks"},{"teacherId":1552876,"projectId":9225738,"letterContent":"I cannot find enough words to express how grateful I am for your generous donation to our cause. These special education and ENL learners worked so incredibly hard to bring their play, \"Matilda\" to life on the stage.\r\n\r\nFrom learning tons of lines, lyrics to songs, stage directions, prop moving, curtain cues and choreography, these students did it all!! Having voice amplifiers gave them the confidence to give their absolute best on stage. They didn't have to worry about walking to a microphone stand or passing a microphone between students during scenes. These voice amplifiers gave them the freedom to move and act exactly how they needed to in order to put on the show we planned.\r\n\r\nNot only did they get to perform for their parents and families, but they had the chance to show off their hard work to other classes in the school. For students who may struggle academically, music and dance are a universal language and can be such a strength for kids. Because of your support, I now have beautiful yarn to begin a new social-emotional well-being initiative with my students. Although the first shipment was incorrect, the materials arrived just in time for the start of the school year. I plan to form a small knitting club where students will have the opportunity to explore creativity, develop patience, and find a calming outlet during the school day.\r\n\r\nWhile my students have not yet seen the materials, I know they will be excited to start something so unique and hands-on. Many of the children I work with benefit from activities that allow them to slow down, focus, and feel successful in a safe space. Knitting will give them the chance to build resilience, problem-solving skills, and confidence while also connecting with peers in a supportive group. I can already imagine the sense of pride they will feel as they see their projects take shape.\r\n\r\nThis project is more than just learning to knit—it will provide my students with an opportunity to strengthen social-emotional skills that are essential both inside and outside the classroom. Thanks to your kindness, I am able to give them this meaningful experience, and I look forward to sharing updates as our knitting club grows throughout the year.","fullyFundedDate":1742047048769,"projectUrl":"project/creating-comfort-hand-knitting-chunky-b/9002927/","projectTitle":"Creating Comfort: Hand-Knitting Chunky Blankets for Creativity and Calm","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cermak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3821502_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734006059151","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3821502"},{"teacherId":7235083,"projectId":6474477,"letterContent":"Our classroom has come alive with creativity thanks to the new 3D pens! Students have been using them to bring their imaginations to life—from designing miniature models of historical landmarks to creating original art pieces for our classroom gallery wall. One of the most exciting projects was when students worked in teams to design and build 3D prototypes of eco-friendly inventions. The level of collaboration, innovation, and pride they showed was inspiring!\r\n\r\nThe moment I introduced the 3D pens, the room erupted with excitement! There were gasps, wide eyes, and a few \"no way!\" exclamations. Many of them had never used anything like this before, and they were instantly hooked. Even students who are usually quiet or hesitant to try something new dove right in and started creating with confidence.\r\n\r\nNext, we're planning a cross-curricular project where students will design 3D models based on characters and settings from the novels we're reading in class. They'll be using their pens to bring literature to life in a tangible way, combining artistic expression with deep comprehension. These kinds of hands-on projects make learning truly memorable—and it's all thanks to all of you.","fullyFundedDate":1654188254606,"projectUrl":"project/creativity-in-3d/6474477/","projectTitle":"Creativity in 3D","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. OGrady","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7235083_orig.jpg?crop=1112,1112,x0,y151&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1590093439413","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msogradyrocks"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_903","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":454,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":82,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":84,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":74.1,"schoolId":903,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 68 Cambridge on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 68 Cambridge","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-68-cambridge/903"}
