I've added some pictures to show how my 2nd Grade Mathematicians worked together to solve logic puzzles. They sat on the new flexible seating mats on the back of the room and used the dry erase markers to test our their ideas. They also recorded their final answer on the dry erase boards. I love their creative ways that they used to show how they added to get to \"60\" as an answer. \r\n\r\nWhile this small group was working in the back of the room, the other students paired up to practice their skip counting skills. They counted by 2, 5, and 10. Then used the products to find a mystery picture after coloring the appropriate boxes. There are so many skills built into this lesson including cooperative learning, defending your math thinking, and building hand-eye coordination. \r\n\r\nAs always, we thank you for your generosity. Students now participate in daily and weekly cleaning routines, wiping down desks, organizing materials, and taking pride in caring for their shared space. One special moment was watching students work together to clean after a busy lesson—they treated it like a team effort and were excited to take responsibility for their classroom environment.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were genuinely excited and curious. Many of them wanted to help right away and asked questions about how each supply would be used. With age-appropriate building sets, simple engineering tools, counting manipulatives, and sensory-based science kits, our classroom continues to be a place where curiosity leads the way. Children are asking questions, testing ideas, and—most importantly—believing in their ability to learn. For example, when a four-year-old proudly explains how they balanced a structure they built with excitement and details.\r\n\r\nYour investment goes beyond materials. It creates equitable access to early STEM experiences, helping ensure that all children—regardless of background—can explore, imagine, and succeed.
