Our students were so excited to hear that new recess equipment was on the way, and the anticipation has been building all week. When we told them it would be arriving, there were so many smiles, questions, and guesses about what was inside. They truly cannot wait to get outside and start using everything- it has already created such a positive buzz throughout the school.\r\n\r\nEven before opening the materials, students have been talking about the games they want to play and how they plan to use the equipment with their friends. It's been really special to see their excitement and how naturally they are thinking about teamwork and including others. We know that once everything is in use, recess will become an even more engaging and active time where students can move, collaborate, and enjoy being together. Recess is such an important part of their day, and having new, high quality materials makes it even more meaningful.\r\n\r\nAs we get started, we're looking forward to helping students build routines and encouraging more student-led games and activities. We want them to take ownership of their play, practice teamwork, and continue building positive relationships with one another. Your support has already made a huge impact, and we are so grateful for the joy and excitement you've brought to our students. A core philosophy of Natalie Hale's method is to \"go in through the heart and teach to the brain,\" -materials are designed to be high-interest and personally engaging so learners are motivated to read.\r\n\r\nThe central focus of this program is reading for meaning. The stories connect directly to students' hearts by reflecting their unique interests and personal experiences. When children see themselves in what they read, they are naturally motivated to engage with the text. They look forward to opening their books and reading about their families, holidays, friends, favorite hobbies, and special interests—helping them build both a love of reading and strong literacy skills in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nWith the materials we were able to purchase through your donations, we are able to tailor to each child's individual level, interests, and needs.
