We recently completed a classroom project focused on mindfulness and self-regulation. During the project, I introduced our new sensory feelings buddies and a variety of sensory resources, including fidget toys, and our bubble tube in our sensory area. \r\nOne of the most memorable moments occurred when we used the sensory materials during a group activity where students were asked to express their emotions starting their first day of school. The sensory tools provided a calm, comforting space that allowed students to focus on their emotions through play without being overwhelmed by distractions. It was incredible to see students use the bubble tube to calm down when they were not able to regulate their emotions or have a comfortable workspace on our new couch where they are relaxed and excited. \r\nLooking ahead, these resources are paving the way for some exciting new lessons and projects. One of our upcoming initiatives involves sensory needs, deep breathing exercises using sensory activities. The students will use the calming resources as they work through the movements, helping them to regulate their bodies and minds while fostering a sense of community in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1748456847249,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-sensory/9368673/","projectTitle":"Learning Through Sensory","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Alexa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10040065"},{"teacherId":9311720,"projectId":9084138,"letterContent":"I am truly so appreciative of your support towards our classroom.
