One student even whispered, \"It feels like Christmas!\" That joy and excitement carried right into their work.\r\n\r\nWe used the materials for our animal research project, where each student chose an animal to study. It's more than just a soft place to sit, it's our gathering spot, and our community circle. On the rug, students feel equal and included, sitting shoulder to shoulder, ready to share ideas, listen to one another, and build connections. It creates a sense of belonging that you can't always achieve from desks.\r\n\r\nHaving a separate rug in our SEL (Social Emotional Learning) area adds another layer of comfort and safety. It's where students can go when they need a moment to breathe, reflect, or reset. The SEL rug has quickly become a safe and special place. During a recent group reading activity, one student became overwhelmed and quietly asked if he could sit there. Resting on the rug helped him calm down and refocus, and he was able to return to his group and finish the project. Having that space gives students permission to reset in a healthy way.\r\n\r\nAnd of course, having a vacuum might seem small, but it's a game changer. A clean, fresh space makes the classroom feel cared for and welcoming. My students notice when our room feels tidy, and it helps them take pride in their environment. The vacuum helps us maintain the rugs we use daily, so they stay cozy, clean, and ready for learning.\r\n\r\nThese items may seem simple, but in my classroom, they've created a place where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1753654301358,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-rug/9293604/","projectTitle":"Classroom Rug","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Guevara","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4613753_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1644315011475","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-guevara36"},{"teacherId":4613753,"projectId":9177594,"letterContent":"Having access to Teachers Pay Teachers resources has made such a big difference in my classroom. Your gift has allowed my students to be exposed to the fun and interactive tools of the games, and they are all enjoying learning mathematics in ways previously unimaginable. The impact that these games have had with my students has been amazing!\r\n\r\nWhen the games initially came in, my students were totally hyped. They were buzzing with excitement as they all crowded into learning the new instruments. They were all so ready to dive in and begin playing. These games have turned math into something they look forward to. The enthusiasm and energy are now a part of every math class!\r\n\r\nA perfect example of how we've utilized the games in class was when we were studying multiplication recently. I had grouped the class and assigned a different math board game to each group. The students worked in groups to tackle multiplication problems, move their pieces forward, and strategize about how they could win the game. The challenge was so encouraging that all of the resistant students became more positive and collaborative. Observing them working in pairs, discussing issues with each other, and helping each other resolve problems was inspiring. It was such a great experience for me as an educator because I got to watch them learn while also enjoying themselves at the same time.\r\n\r\nThe games have accomplished much more than just reinforcing elementary mathematical ideas. They have fostered team work, communication, and problem-solving that no class can provide. Most of my students are more confident using maths too, and their attitude now shifts from fear of this subject to enthusiasm and motivation. It has also been great to see students who perhaps did not get involved quite so much with whole-class activities just dive at the game and take the lead in their smaller groups. It's given them a sense of ownership in their learning, and I've seen a noticeable boost in their confidence.\r\n\r\nThe beauty of the games is that they allow for differentiated learning. Some students are able to practice foundational math concepts, while others can challenge themselves with more complex problems. It's been a wonderful way to meet the varying needs of all my students, ensuring that everyone is engaged at their own level.","fullyFundedDate":1739395062343,"projectUrl":"project/let-the-games-begin/9108468/","projectTitle":"Let the Games Begin","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rivera","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2501175_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1534905475500","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/joelrivera"},{"teacherId":4863626,"projectId":8806423,"letterContent":"Is is with an immense sense of gratitude that I send you this letter. As you may already know, my students come from low-income housing &/or shelter housing. Most of my students do not have basic living essentials so I try to provide them with everything they need to be successful in school. Many of my students have pre-existing medical conditions (such as asthma) and we need to always keep a clean environment. The Lysol wipes have helped us to maintain our cleanliness. Every morning, the students come in, unpack, wash their hands, and take a Lysol wipe to wipe their desks. The tissues are very helpful this time of year and the students were so happy to have the aloe infused tissues to use. \r\n\r\nAs we are a New York State testing grade, we are constantly preparing our students to take the state tests in the Spring. The binders that you have provided us, give our students an opportunity to keep all their review materials in one place. The students were even more excited to learn that they will take their binders home at the end of the year to continue to review over the summer. As all of my students have special needs, checking on their emotional health is key to helping them be successful. The social-emotional journals and conversation prompt cards, have been extremely helpful in helping my students open up about their feelings, as well as be able to identify their feelings. \r\n\r\nAs students with special needs, having ways to expend energy is key. The fidget bands have been attached to their desks so that while they are learning, they can move their legs without disrupting the class. Additionally, having a timer in the classroom has helped my students stay on track with completing their tasks. \r\n\r\nMy students, and I, are so grateful for your generosity, kindness, and compassion. Recently, we even used the newfound focus to create magic model hearts for loved ones for Valentine's Day. It was a deeply gratifying experience for them, providing both a creative outlet and valuable tactile sensory input.\r\nWe are all buzzing with excitement about the crash pad! Your contribution made it possible for us to enhance the classroom environment and this has had a positive effect both on the students' enthusiasm and their learning.\r\n\r\nSince the whiteboard came to us, it has really served a big part in every lesson we have done. Be it solving equations in mathematics or creating pieces of writing or even participating in class presentations, everything has become more effective and learners friendly. Recently, during a group activity where several students had solve some addition and subtraction problems, they were able to use our magnetic base ten manipulative to model the process of addition and subtraction. Such an environment encourages students' inclusiveness and contribution which would have been much more difficult without the magnetic whiteboard. \r\n\r\nThe students were absolutely thrilled when they first saw the new whiteboard. They were very proud, and it really helped foster a sense of ownership in their learning. Looking ahead, the whiteboard will continue to play a critical role in our upcoming lessons.
