Your support has truly transformed the way my students learn, especially during small group instruction, and I am so grateful for the opportunities it has created for them each day.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment we introduced the StanbyME, my students were immediately excited. What stands out most to them is how interactive and accessible learning has become. Instead of sitting passively, they now have the chance to come up, touch the screen, move objects, write directly on texts, and solve problems in a hands-on way. This has been especially powerful for my students who struggle to stay engaged during traditional lessons. The ability to physically interact with the material has made learning feel more like an experience rather than a task.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting features for my students is the mobility of the device. Because I can move it anywhere in the room, I am able to bring instruction directly to small groups without losing valuable time in transitions. My students love that we can create a \"learning space\" wherever we are—whether it's at the kidney table, on the rug, or even in a quieter corner for more focused work. It has made our classroom feel more flexible and responsive to their needs.\r\n\r\nThere are several students who have especially warmed to this technology, and it has been incredible to watch. I have a student who often struggles with writing and can feel frustrated when asked to complete written tasks independently. However, when using the StanbyME, they become motivated and eager to participate. They love using the touchscreen to type, draw, and organize their ideas visually. The pressure of pencil-and-paper tasks is reduced, and they are more willing to take risks and share thinking. Seeing their confidence grow has been one of the most meaningful impacts of this tool.\r\n\r\nAnother student who benefits greatly is one who has difficulty maintaining focus and often needs frequent redirection. With the interactive features of the StanbyME, this student is far more engaged. Being able to come up and physically interact with the lesson keeps them involved and reduces off-task behaviors. This student is proud to participate and often volunteers to demonstrate their thinking for the group, which is a huge step forward for them.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, my students who benefit from visual supports have shown noticeable growth. I am able to display graphic organizers, highlight key information, and model strategies in real time. This has helped them better understand expectations and follow along with lessons more independently. The immediate feedback and visual clarity have made a significant difference in their comprehension.\r\n\r\nOverall, your donation has not only provided us with a piece of technology—it has opened the door to more inclusive, engaging, and effective instruction. My students are more excited to learn, more willing to participate, and more confident in their abilities. As a teacher, it has allowed me to better meet their individual needs and create meaningful learning experiences that truly support their growth.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and investing in their future. Your generosity is making a lasting impact every single day in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1771017407887,"projectUrl":"project/interactive-instruction-anywhere/10050231/","projectTitle":"Interactive Instruction Anywhere","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Calo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2709561_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1448326100689","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-calo"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_594","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":207,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":50,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":37,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"5.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.3,"schoolId":594,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 295 the Studio School of Art & Culture on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 295 the Studio School of Art & Culture","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-295/594"}
