We really appreciate the new books that have been added to our classroom library. A special thank you to the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation for their generous donation!\r\n Most of my students enjoy reading, but it can be difficult to find books that are engaging to my third graders. With the addition of these new graphic novels, my third graders are borrowing at least 2 to 3 books a week. They absolutely love the different graphic novels, especially Dog Man, Bad Guys, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.\r\n As students read these chapter books, they are paying more attention to dialogue and setting in the text. This helps my students to better understand the text and what is happening. My students' reading stamina has improved throughout the last few weeks. Your generosity has made a meaningful and immediate difference in our classroom, and I am excited to share the impact with you.\r\nSince receiving this technology, I've watched my students engage with learning in new and powerful ways. Many of you use technology at home, but in the classroom it becomes something even more transformative. The tools you provided allow students to practice skills at their own pace, receive instant feedback, and explore concepts through interactive activities that make learning feel like discovery rather than work. Whether it's listening to stories being read aloud, practicing math facts with visual supports, or creating their own short projects, the technology helps each child learn in the way that best fits them.\r\nWhat excites my students most is the ownership they now feel over their learning. They love being able to choose activities that challenge them, track their progress, and celebrate their accomplishments. I've seen students who were once hesitant become confident simply because the technology allows them to try, adjust, and try again without fear of making mistakes.\r\nA few children, in particular, have truly blossomed. One of my quieter students has taken to using the reading apps every day; the combination of audio support and interactive vocabulary tools has boosted both skill and confidence. Another student—who often struggles to stay focused—has amazed us with how engaged he becomes when working through math games that turn problem-solving into something exciting and achievable. Seeing these students light up has been one of the greatest gifts your support has given us.\r\nYour generosity has brought more than just new tools into our room—it has opened doors for our students, strengthened their independence, and shown them that there are people beyond our classroom who believe in their potential.\r\nThank you for making this possible. We are deeply grateful.\r\nWith appreciation,\r\nPina Russo\r\nSecond Grade Teacher","fullyFundedDate":1758898822105,"projectUrl":"project/my-second-grade-class/9438422/","projectTitle":"My Second Grade Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Russo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10066470"},{"teacherId":9788394,"projectId":9538949,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping to provide the materials requested to restock our art room at P.S. 175. \r\n\r\nWe have certainly been putting the items to good use...\r\n\r\nFourth and fifth grades are currently working on coated recycled materials sculptures with papier mache, thanks to the several gallons of Elmer's glue you helped provide! \r\n\r\nThose Kwik Sticks introduced our kindergarten and pre-K students to color mixing in a very satisfying and developmentally appropriate way!\r\n\r\nThe liquid watercolors and watercolor paper have helped so many students learn different watercolor techniques on paper that can handle it!\r\n\r\n...Just to name just a few things you helped with. \r\n\r\nWe truly appreciate your generosity. Our class is an inclusion class with 32 students of varying backgrounds, abilities and learning styles. They all benefit from learning in smaller groups than whole class instruction allows, but without access to this board, they were all crammed in one group when we needed access to technology. With this board, we have been able to divide the class for lessons into two groups, with equal access to visual supports, engaging games and the ability to share our work. \r\n\r\nAs a teacher, this is the first time both groups have had equal access to the engagement and support this board provides, and it is a game-changer for our students. Our students have raved about having enough space physically to do their work now that they are not squished onto one rug, being able to all see the board (not just the kids lucky enough to get front-row seats) and having more chances to go up to the board and participate. One student has nicknamed our board \"Carl\" and they get excited to be assigned to \"Carl's group\". \r\n\r\nThe students are quick to pick up the different format of this board and love discovering new tools and techniques this board has compared to our other board.
