Because of your generosity, my students now have access to adjustable basketball hoops that allow them to learn and practice skills at an appropriate and achievable level. We are using these hoops daily during skill-building lessons focused on shooting, passing, footwork, and teamwork. Being able to lower and raise the hoops has allowed me to meet students exactly where they are and gradually increase challenges as their confidence and ability grow.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the adjustable hoops, their excitement was immediate. Many students who were previously hesitant to shoot or participate were eager to try, knowing the hoop was set at a height where success felt possible. Students cheered for one another, celebrated made baskets, and showed noticeable pride in their progress. The adjustable height removes fear and frustration, replacing it with motivation, effort, and joy.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, the next steps for my students include building more advanced game-play skills, small-sided basketball games, and goal-setting activities that reinforce perseverance and teamwork. These hoops are helping students develop not only athletic skills, but also confidence, resilience, and a love for physical activity. Thank you for making a lasting impact on my students and for helping lay the foundation for future athletes.","fullyFundedDate":1762799960612,"projectUrl":"project/confidence-starts-small-adjustable-hoop/9864539/","projectTitle":"Confidence Starts Small: Adjustable Hoops for Future Athletes","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bonanno","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kfritsch119"},{"teacherId":7242000,"projectId":9696852,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our project, Printing for Success: Ink to Inspire Healthy Living. Because of your generosity, I am able to provide students with high-quality, engaging printed materials that directly support their learning in Physical Education. Access to reliable printing allows me to create visuals, activity cards, fitness trackers, and instructional resources that help students better understand skills, rules, and healthy lifestyle concepts. These materials make lessons clearer, more organized, and more accessible for all learners.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is being able to use hands-on materials they can see, touch, and take ownership of. Whether it's tracking their fitness progress, following visual task cards during stations, or using printed reminders of health and movement goals, students are more engaged and motivated. Having these resources consistently available allows lessons to run smoothly and gives students a sense of pride in their work.\r\n\r\nThis project has been especially impactful for younger students, visual learners, and English language learners, who benefit greatly from clear visuals and printed supports. Because of your donation, I can meet the needs of diverse learners and create an inclusive environment where every student can succeed. Because of you, our gym is now a safer, more inclusive, and more engaging place for every child.\r\n\r\nThese coated foam balls have already made an immediate and visible impact. Unlike traditional balls, they are soft, lightweight, and easy to grip, which helps students feel confident participating—especially those who may be hesitant, younger learners, or students still developing motor skills. The coating allows the balls to maintain their shape and durability while still being gentle, reducing fear of injury and encouraging active involvement.\r\n\r\nIn PE, confidence is everything. Since using these balls, I've seen students who were previously reluctant to join games eagerly raise their hands, volunteer, and fully participate. They are practicing throwing, catching, teamwork, and communication without fear, which supports both physical development and social-emotional growth.\r\n\r\nYour donation doesn't just provide equipment—it creates opportunity. It allows me to design lessons that are accessible to all learners, including students with different ability levels and language backgrounds. These balls will be used daily across multiple grade levels, benefiting hundreds of students for years to come.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in my students and in the power of physical education.
