We decorated the covers for our science journals, playing with kinetic sand, looking at the liquid bubbler sensory toys, and building with our STEM set. We are having so much fun learning through play. \r\n\r\nWe will use the science journals at least once a week. We drew pictures of apples and pumpkins. We also made leaf rubbings in our journals. We will continue to use these journals throughout the school year. The liquid bubblers are in our \"Cozy Corner\" and students are mesmerized by how they work.\r\n\r\nIt is thanks so much to donors like you that my class has all of the resources it needs to keep my students engaged and my classroom is kept current. Students made connections between historical struggles and the values they learn in school, such as respect and standing up for others. \r\n\r\nThese books are supporting literacy development. The number one item that we have been using is the alphabet box. During center time, students engage in letter and sound work. Now that we have the alphabet box, students enjoy working together to sort the sounds. They enjoy looking at the pictures and even playing with the little images. \r\nThe next most used items are our fabulous new mini-clipboards. Students use these during center time as well and are able to work on the classroom rug with the clipboards. They feel so grown up with their new materials. \r\nOther items in this project have been amazing incentives and treats for my students such as the cups and stickers. \r\nI can't thank you enough for such a kind and generous donation.
