The teachers are disinfecting tables, counter top, manipulative tools, door knobs, and toys. \r\n\r\nWhen the boxes arrived, I opened them up one at a time and for each box I opened the students said...\"where are the toys?\" I explained that we need to stay healthy and hand washing is very important! \r\n\r\nThe antibacterial soap was also used during our next theme \"Clothes\". The students used the liquid soap to wash doll clothes, kitchen cloths and baby dolls. For many of my students, traditional methods of learning can be challenging due to their individual needs. These new laptops have opened doors to engagement, independence, and growth in new ways. The touchscreen feature is especially helpful for students with fine motor difficulties. Instead of struggling to navigate a mouse or keyboard, they can tap, swipe, and drag with ease, allowing them to focus on the content rather than the tools. This means more time actively learning and less time feeling frustrated.\r\n\r\nWhat's most exciting to my students is how interactive and immediate everything feels now. They can watch a read-aloud, practice math with visual supports, practice their phonics skills or use speech-to-text features to share their ideas—all at their fingertips.\r\nThank you for believing in the potential of my students. Your support has brought not just laptops into our classroom, but new possibilities and moments of joy every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1739805426714,"projectUrl":"project/empower-young-minds-with-touchscreen-chr/9025483/","projectTitle":"Empower Young Minds with Touchscreen Chromebooks","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Paparelli","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9885687_orig.jpg?crop=646,646,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1735778703684","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9885687"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_412","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":518,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":15,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":36,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.1,"schoolId":412,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 108 Philip J Abinanti on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 108 Philip J Abinanti","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-108-philip-j-abinanti/412"}
