They studied food webs and the functioning of ecosystems. To put their learning into action, they created their own ecosystems by building terrariums with sprout plants. After gathering data from both the rainforest and their own terrariums, they concluded that soil nutrients are essential for plant growth and survival. They also learned that decomposers play a key role in enriching the soil. To explore this further, the students transformed their terrariums into worm bins, observing decomposers in action. As they collected data, they were excited to see signs of the soil becoming rich in nutrients.\r\n This experience wouldn't have been possible without the generous materials provided through DonorsChoose. Allowing the students to create their own ecosystems truly brought the lesson to life and deepened their understanding. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this project. Words can't fully express how much I appreciate the help I received. Thanks to your support, the students will carry this science lesson with them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1757973751706,"projectUrl":"project/ecosystem-with-worms/9554287/","projectTitle":"Ecosystem with Worms!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Barnes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9934385_orig.jpg?crop=401,401,x78,y6&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754599100581","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9934385"},{"teacherId":6171415,"projectId":8990886,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your genorisity.
