I counsel students in grades K-5. A lot of the work revolves around expressing feelings and learning coping skills to manage big emotions. Play is an essential part of counseling. Shiny new games such as Connect Four and Trouble are a wonderful way for students to work on developing social skills. Students need to learn how to take turns, compromise and win or lose gracefully. New games will help them do that. Students express their feelings through play. The Hape dollhouse and dolls are wonderful tools to facilitate this play. Students can act out their feelings in a non-confrontational way. In my counseling office we also play a lot of games as this helps develop and build social skills. Much of the games in my office now are old and broken and missing pieces. I know the students will appreciate new games. Please consider giving to this project. Your generosity will help enrich many students lives.
