Being a first-year teacher is no easy task, so your support is greatly appreciated. I am so thankful that there are programs like DonorsChoose that help teachers fund both everyday supplies and marvelous classroom projects to improve the school experience for our students.\r\n\r\nMy project was mostly classroom supplies, as well as a few plush book characters and books/learning games. The tissues and disinfectant wipes are especially appreciated during this season of the school year :) and the book characters have been well-loved by all who enter my room. I have to say, I think my students' favorite item from my project has been the class set of clipboards. It allows them to roam the room or find comfier spots to work, versus sitting at their desks all day. They have had a TON of fun working from the carpet.\r\n\r\nWhen my students saw all of the materials, they were SHOCKED that other people donated money to support my goal. I work in a district where the students do not have much, so they were very grateful to see people supporting us (and so many other teachers!). As I mentioned earlier, it was all about those clipboards for them and watching me pull one after another out of the box had them starstruck!\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students are to continue working hard as we approach our 100th Day of School!! We just started learning about money in math, so they have been enjoying adding up coins and bills in word problems. We are also working on traditional tales in ELA, so they have really been liking learning the different morals of stories we have read as well!\r\n\r\nThank you again for all of your support for my classroom and my students. So many of us teachers would not be able to achieve these projects without your support, and we are so happy to be making a difference in the lives of our students, just like you are making a difference in our lives as well! Thank you again, and your donations will continue to be used with love by my first class of second graders and for many years to come!","fullyFundedDate":1734099470885,"projectUrl":"project/miss-bellmans-first-year-classroom/8778046/","projectTitle":"Miss Bellman's First-Year Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bellman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9747893"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82083","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":652,"numTeachers":63,"percentFrplEligible":38,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":72,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":51.2,"schoolId":82083,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Prospect Park Elementary School 1 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Prospect Park Elementary School 1","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/prospect-park-school-district/prospect-park-elementary-school-1/82083"}
