The flexible seating, calm down area items and social skills materials have all played a huge role in our classroom community. The flexible seating is a fan favorite as it helps scholars to focus when completing a task. I asked them each to write down how these items have helped them and they all identified that the bouncy seats help to keep them centered and engaged when completing their work. One quoted \"It helps me stay calm when I'm trying to focus on my work.\" Another said, \"They help me to not be so distracted\". \r\nThe items in the calm down area have also been of huge benefit. The emotions wheel helps scholars to identify their feelings when they are having a hard time regulating. The bean bag chair is perfect for scholars to use when they need a few quiet minutes. One scholar stated, \"I like to go to the calm down area and lay on the bean bag, it helps me to take a break when I need it\". The social emotional resources have had a huge impact on our classroom community and have enhanced my instruction and their learning in tremendous ways.
