My students were so excited to return this school to see the new reading space! Reading is a struggle for most of my students so it makes it more fun to have a cozy, comfortable space that is especially for reading. \r\n When I created this project, I was unaware that I would also be teaching 2 regular education classes this school year that more than doubled the number of students in and out of my classroom. For those students, I use the cozy corner as a reward for students that get all of their work completed. Some of them have started bringing their books to class with them because they hope to get done with their work with time to spare for the cozy corner. I didn't anticipate how much of a motivator that would be! \r\n Also, I have found this space to be conducive to socializing. Most of my special education students struggle with social skills and communication. Having a space that allows them to relax, takes some of the tension out of socializing. I am finding new ways to use this space every week. \r\n Many of my students were very excited to see the new noise cancelling headphones. They are getting used on a daily basis by students that struggle to focus with noise and distractions. I am already noticing an improved ability to concentrate and get tests, quizzes and assignments completed. \r\n Your generosity is greatly appreciated!","fullyFundedDate":1746785476268,"projectUrl":"project/reading-space/9296061/","projectTitle":"Reading Space","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Carissa Bauer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9865147_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y139&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739543598680","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9865147"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_77409","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":152,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":96,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"8.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":null,"schoolId":77409,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Princeton Junior Senior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Princeton Junior Senior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/princeton-school-district-r5/princeton-junior-senior-high-school/77409"}
