I have one student who gets very excited or overwhelmed easily and often feels guilt for acting out. They will often sit in the chair while looking through the many activities that are stored in the bench and it helps calm their overactive mind. \r\n\r\nThe chairs were the first to be added and immediately students loved seeing something that wasn't science tables and chairs. When the bench arrived, it was super fun to see the students get excited and come up with ideas to fill in the cubbies. We have nicknamed the bench the \"Boredom Bench\" and came up with a collection of activities to fill the spot that students to go to for extra activities throughout the day (word searches, crossword puzzle, coloring pages, etc.)\r\n\r\nWe love the addition to our classroom!!","fullyFundedDate":1755393011065,"projectUrl":"project/a-calm-corner-for-middle-schoolers/9609776/","projectTitle":"A Calm Corner for Middle Schoolers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wise","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10181758"},{"teacherId":6623552,"projectId":9556718,"letterContent":"I would like to sincerely thank you for your generous donation that helped fund the flexible seating in my 6th grade social studies classroom. Your support has made a meaningful difference in creating a more comfortable, engaging, and student-centered learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating options—such as stools, wobble chairs, and floor seating—allow students to choose where and how they learn best. This simple choice has had a powerful impact. Students are more focused, collaborative, and motivated during lessons. The new setup encourages movement, helps with concentration, and gives students a sense of ownership over their learning space.\r\n\r\nThe positive changes are clear every day: quieter transitions, stronger participation, and more thoughtful discussions. Many students who once struggled to stay engaged are now excited to find the spot that helps them learn best.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has done more than just purchase furniture—it has transformed our classroom culture into one that values comfort, choice, and community. Thank you for believing in the importance of creating spaces where students feel supported and inspired to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1755521862076,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-spaces-growing-minds-emphasiz/9556718/","projectTitle":"Flexible Spaces, Growing Minds– Emphasizes Adaptability and Learning Growth","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Snider","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6623552_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723334140454","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6623552"},{"teacherId":6623552,"projectId":9543689,"letterContent":"My students have thrived so far this year getting hands on financial experience from our classroom economy. Students applied for jobs, receive two paychecks a month, and have classroom bills they have to pay and be responsible for. For those who are financially responsible, they have been able to save up money to purchase things from our class store. This has increased overall engagement in my class and students are excited to check their accounts every week. \r\n\r\nWhen I first showed my students the store that they could purchase items from, they were all \"locked in\" and invested in the experience. It has really been a motivator for them and a great opportunity to practice saving for things they want. \r\n\r\nMy next steps are to allow students to continue interacting with the economy and gaining the skills they need to be financially literate and responsible humans.","fullyFundedDate":1754702734896,"projectUrl":"project/a-store-of-their-own-empowering-student/9543689/","projectTitle":"A Store of Their Own: Empowering Students with Money Smarts","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Snider","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6623552_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723334140454","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6623552"},{"teacherId":9632092,"projectId":9596222,"letterContent":"The donation of scientific calculators has had a significant positive impact on both student learning and my instructional practices. For the students, having access to these calculators has increased engagement and confidence in mathematics, especially in topics such as algebra, fractions, exponents, and scientific notation. Many of them had previously struggled with complex calculations or lacked the tools to check their work accurately. With the calculators, they can now focus more on understanding mathematical concepts rather than being slowed down by arithmetic errors. This has led to noticeable improvements in accuracy, problem-solving skills, and overall performance in assessments especially the district common assessments that my students have taken recently. \r\n\r\nFrom an instructional perspective, the availability of calculators has allowed me to introduce more advanced and meaningful lessons. I can now emphasize conceptual understanding, real-world applications, and higher-order thinking skills instead of spending excessive time on manual computation. It has also made it easier to differentiate instruction as students who grasp concepts quickly can explore challenging problems, while others can use the calculators to build foundational confidence. Classroom discussions have become more dynamic as students are able to verify results quickly and focus on reasoning and strategy.","fullyFundedDate":1755400398112,"projectUrl":"project/calculating-confidence-empowering-futur/9596222/","projectTitle":"Calculating Confidence: Empowering Future Mathematicians with Scientific Calculator","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Adolfo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9632092_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y291&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762527107206","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9632092"},{"teacherId":7341310,"projectId":8569814,"letterContent":"My students did an amazing job with their labs as well as their activities.
