We have many students (and that number seems to be growing as technology evolves) who haven't found \"their book.\" The book that challenges them to see life differently, the book that sees them in a way no other human ever could, the book that transforms them from a non-reader into a reader. \r\n\r\nBecause of your generous donation, our library can display new books for reluctant readers. Our librarian is busy introducing the new books to classes, and there is no better problem than students forming a waiting list to get their hands on a specific novel. \r\n\r\nWe requested these books to better reach all students, from our emerging readers in Early Kindergarten to our high school seniors. I have to say my favorite books from the lot were the Jane Austens. These fabric-bound novels transport readers to a magical Regency period where books were a status symbol, and love was possible, no matter your station in life. Already, we are seeing measurable improvement in students' reading skills as they practice identifying key ideas, making inferences, and reading with greater fluency.\r\nMost importantly, the magazines have helped many students discover that reading can be enjoyable, relevant, and connected to the world around them.
