As a club, we do lots of outreach to the community as a thank you for all the money they donate to us. We have traveled to Houston to participate in the FTC World Competition. Because we do not have funding from the school, we ask the community to help us with the cost of going to Houston for 6 days. The community is awesome and always helps out. Therefore, we like to help the community when we can. We use the button machine to make buttons for various events in the community. One such event is Santa's Workshop held downtown during the holiday season. We set up a station where kids come in and make various crafts for the holidays. We have children make their own designs and then use the button machine to make them a button. It is a big hit at the event.\r\nAs for our teams, we use the button machine to make buttons for each team's logo and then hand them out during competitions. We also do the make your own button. In the past we have had to share our only button machine between teams. Now, with this button machine we are able to have teams make more buttons. It has helped us promote robotics and our teams at events. \r\nCurrently, the teams are brainstorming on other ways we can use the button making machine to help promote the robotics club and have a presence in the community. We can't thank our donors enough for helping us pay back the community through public service.","fullyFundedDate":1778022518990,"projectUrl":"project/help-2-ftc-teams-spread-joy-at-worlds-co/10121960/","projectTitle":"Help 2 FTC Teams Spread Joy at Worlds Competition","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hayano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp6048239_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1543355655002","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6048239"},{"teacherId":6048239,"projectId":9904502,"letterContent":"Thank you again for donating and making our request a reality. The impact that this has had on our team is hard to describe. We were capable of doing all the things we were doing before, just not on the same computer. Having one computer able to do all our work has made the team more efficient and effective.\r\n\r\nWe compete in First Tech Challenge (firstinspires.org). We are not a wealthy club, so we rely on using the same parts year after year. When we need thing, we design them and use a 3D printer to print them out. To do this, we use Fusion 360. We program our robot using Android Studio. The school computer we were using could run Android Studio, but not Fusion 360. We had a member of our team using her own laptop for Fusion 360. However, she was not always at our meetings, so getting things done was a challenge. Enter the new computer.\r\n\r\nThe new computer we got can do all of that and more. We can run both fusion 360 and Android Studio at the same time. We can compare things in real time and make adjustments very quickly. We can also run the slicing program for 3D prints, create our engineering notebook on Canva, and post updates on our social media. The computer has been awesome for us. Best thing is that this is a computer we can continue to use year after year.
