It was refreshing not having to create a supply list only to include calculators knowing many students and their families would not be able to afford them. A handful of calculators were checked out to individual students whom needed them in multiple classes and I was able to make do with a smaller set. It is daily a student will respectfully ask to borrow a calculator for his/her math test and while I believe in student success in all courses it is my pleasure to check it out to them. The caddy allows for easy tracking of the numbered calculators and it's been humorous to see students gather around before the bell to ensure all calculators have been returned! No other supply has been used more than these calculators and we thank you for allowing us to abide by a phone-free classroom while meeting the need for calculators!","fullyFundedDate":1725145499247,"projectUrl":"project/see-you-later-cell-phones-hello-calcula/8712742/","projectTitle":"See You Later Cell Phones, Hello Calculators!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Loeffen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8022973"},{"teacherId":7053640,"projectId":8743298,"letterContent":"On behalf of the Powell High School Career Technical Healthcare Foundations Class thank you so much for your generous support to help us purchase PPE for our infection control practice. Students were trying to use the same gown and gloves all semester and it just wasn't working; the gowns would rip and the gloves were absolutely gross (defeating our goal of protecting ourselves from germs). It is so nice for students to be able to come into our mock care lab and don and doff PPE, they can now do this process quickly and proficiently. These hands on experiences are promoting confidence and increasing enthusiam to pursue healthcare careers. \r\n\r\nThe students are creating Wakelet Portfolios demonstrating all the skills they have acquired this semester and most all of the skills require PPE, so they have put their PPE on and off many many times this semester. Without your support students would not have been able to properly practice execution of donning and doffing PPE for each skill. Students record videos of themselves performing the skills and then upload into their portfolios for accessibility to share their skills easily with future employers. With your support our hope is to provide a passionate future healthcare workforce in our community and beyond. We know that the demand for quality healthcare continues to grow at a rapid pace, our goal is to meet this need.\r\n\r\nOur CTE Healthcare Pathway is growing and I am very proud of the young people who plan to enter the workforce, some are even entering the workforce now while they are in high school. I am very proud of our students and our program. Thank you for believing in the importance of education and for investing in our students. Your support inspires us to continue working diligently toward a brighter, healthier future for all. Thank you so much for helping us grow.","fullyFundedDate":1727292973529,"projectUrl":"project/lowering-our-risk-personal-protective/8743298/","projectTitle":"Lowering Our Risk -- Personal Protective Equipment","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bennett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7053640_orig.jpg?crop=716,716,x281,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1578164550465","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7053640"},{"teacherId":9774639,"projectId":8815014,"letterContent":"Thank you for contributing to our Speech and Debate team at Powell High School. Having a box full of snacks and easy-to-prepare food items makes our season run so much more smoothly and decreases stress levels for coaches and students alike. I don't have to worry if students have been able to bring money to buy something to eat, or if they are busy in their competition rounds and miss a meal. I know that if they are hungry, there is always food available to them. This also makes the activity more accessible to all students regardless of their financial situation. We are about halfway through our season now, and I have refilled our traveling box of food twice already using the donations that you provided, and it looks like the remaining food will last through the rest of our season and help us finish out strong at our State and District competitions in the next few months. So thank you for your generosity, it has really helped our team and enabled broad access to a very important activity that builds skills that are useful across the lifetime of these students.","fullyFundedDate":1729807064932,"projectUrl":"project/food-for-our-speech-and-debate-team/8815014/","projectTitle":"Food for Our Speech and Debate Team","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Sapp","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9774639_orig.jpg?crop=2419,2419,x537,y107&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727268609442","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/powellspeech"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39509","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":538,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":51,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":85,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":54.3,"schoolId":39509,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Powell High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Powell High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wyoming/park-county-school-district-1/powell-high-school/39509"}
