One specific project we used the markers for was during a group reading and analysis of a short story. I had each group use different colors to underline themes, literary devices, and key quotes on the whiteboard as they discussed the text. It allowed them to visually see how different elements of the story connected, and the variety of colors really helped bring their ideas to life.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were excited and curious. The colorful expo markers instantly grabbed their attention, and they were eager to use them to highlight important parts of our reading. The light covers also made a big difference—many of my students are sensitive to bright fluorescent lights, and the softer lighting made the classroom feel more inviting and relaxed. They commented that it felt more like a space where they could focus and think deeply about the texts we were studying. Overall, the new materials have been a huge success and have helped to foster a more engaging and comfortable learning environment.","fullyFundedDate":1741099882025,"projectUrl":"project/setting-the-tone/9086630/","projectTitle":"Setting the Tone!!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Zuege","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7034905_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1637282812390","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7034905"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_58985","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":779,"numTeachers":51,"percentFrplEligible":50,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":33,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":53,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":40.7,"schoolId":58985,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Poston Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Poston Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/mesa-public-schools/poston-junior-high-school/58985"}
