Your support has made a meaningful and immediate impact on our students' learning experiences and their ability to fully engage with technology-based instruction.\r\n\r\nIn today's classrooms, technology is no longer an extra—it is an essential tool for learning. Your donation has directly improved student access to digital resources by providing reliable equipment that supports daily instruction. The computer mice allow students to work more efficiently and comfortably, especially during extended periods of research, writing, coding, and project-based learning. For many students, using a mouse instead of a trackpad increases accuracy, reduces frustration, and helps them focus on content rather than mechanics.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have been equally impactful. They allow students to participate in individualized and differentiated learning activities without distractions. With headphones, students can listen to instructional videos, language-learning programs, coding tutorials, and accessibility tools such as text-to-speech at their own pace. This has been especially beneficial for students who need extra support, English language learners, and students who thrive with audio-based instruction. At the same time, headphones help maintain a quiet, focused classroom environment, benefiting all learners.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has also promoted equity in our learning spaces. Not all students have access to technology or accessories at home, and your donation ensures that every student can participate fully in digital lessons regardless of personal resources. By removing these barriers, you have helped create a more inclusive classroom where students can build confidence, develop essential digital skills, and prepare for future academic and career opportunities.\r\n\r\nTeachers have already reported increased student engagement and improved productivity during computer-based activities. Students are more motivated, better able to collaborate, and more independent in their work. These improvements translate into stronger learning outcomes and a more positive classroom experience overall.\r\n\r\nWe are deeply grateful for your commitment to education and your belief in our students' potential. Your generosity demonstrates how community partnerships can directly support learning and make a lasting difference. Because of you, our students are better equipped to succeed in an increasingly digital world.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your support and for investing in the success of our students.","fullyFundedDate":1758202973944,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-learning-through-technology/9634570/","projectTitle":"Empowering Learning Through Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Scott","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9196964_orig.jpg?crop=976,976,x0,y130&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757952092768","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/nadine-scott"},{"teacherId":1905807,"projectId":9932073,"letterContent":"Thank you for the left-handed scissors. I had never thought about keeping left-handed scissors in my art room until I saw a student struggling to cut with right-handed scissors. Yesterday, I asked that student and another left-handed student to try out the new scissors. Let me tell you--it was like giving kids a first pair of glasses! \r\n\r\nThe girl said to the boy, \"C, you hold them like this!\" C then grabbed the scissors and was in awe. They both tried cutting paper and were amazed! It was at this point I realized neither of them (9th and 11th grade) had EVER used left-handed scissors before. It was amazing watching them for the first time. The girl said, \"Let's see who can cut the straightest line!\" All the students in the class were excited just watching them have have fun with scissors. \r\n\r\nThe glue sticks are great, especially as we are creating holiday decorations using paper that is glued together. I have several special needs students and glue sticks are much more appropriate than bottled glue. \r\n\r\nAll the items in this project have made the biggest difference in my class. We were so excited to receive the canvases for completing some holiday-themed artwork. Our students also used the materials to model drawings based on a favorite piece of famous art. You will be able to identify these in the photos we are posting. \r\n\r\nWhen we first opened the boxes, the students were excited to see so many blank canvases. I had to remind them we could not use them all for this project! They were also excited to see the ink rollers because the rollers we had were probably only an inch and a half wide. These are four to six inches. So many more possibilities. \r\n\r\nOur art students are currently working on a state law day contest with the theme of the American Dream and how the rule of law helps to attain that dream. They can't wait to go out every day and check on everything. \r\n\r\nAlthough much of our planters are still barren, they now understand that throughout the winter, we will be getting a head start on beautiful spring plants. We also learned to vary the transparency and viscosity of our inks. My students have created some beautiful pieces. We are currently displaying our work for parent-teacher conferences, and we have had several compliments on our work. \r\n\r\nMy students were a bit unsure of the materials because they are mostly additives for ink such as blending mediums. As the year goes on, they will use them more and more and really get an appreciation for how to create variety and extend their inks. \r\n\r\nJust today, six of my students won or placed in a local art show using some of the materials provided by kind donors like yourselves. This really validates their own skill as artists. \r\n\r\nOur next project will be acrylic painting on canvas. I cannot wait! What I\r\n love about this project is that the football playing kids are wanting to do another carving because they enjoy it so much. \r\n\r\nWe studied several printmakers and watched several video lessons prior to working with our materials. One particular printmaking artist we studied was Ron Pokrasso. We discussed the use of stencils and repetitive images in our art as motifs. \r\n\r\nHow did students react when they saw the materials in this project? They could not believe all the items we received, including bench carving boards which make using carving tools so much safer. They love all the colors of ink. \r\n\r\nAnother project we will do with these same materials is monoprintmaking. Our supplies include extender and blending fluids. Students will learn to use their ghost prints to build prints. I also bought mag powder so my students can make images without the press.","fullyFundedDate":1746535430722,"projectUrl":"project/pressing-needs-for-a-printmaking-project/9287646/","projectTitle":"Pressing Needs for a Printmaking Project","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kunsman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1905807_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1450578447489","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1905807"},{"teacherId":1905807,"projectId":9278711,"letterContent":"My students are creating color wheels using all the new primary color acrylic paints we now have in our class. This project includes secondary colors, but our first activity was to see how we can create secondary colors just using the primary colors. \r\n\r\nThe students were totally in awe at the variety of materials that came with this project. They helped unpack all the boxes. It may sound cliche, but it was like Christmas morning in the art room. The project was meant to resupply so many used-up materials in our art room. We received several hundred sheets of watercolor paper. This means they will not have to cut paper in half for every artwork they want to complete. Before receiving this donation, I had cut the remaining pieces of watercolor paper into thirds so they could try several different watercolor methods on actual watercolor paper rather than copy paper. Quality of paper impacts results. This project will allow my students to understand the nature of watercolor on appropriate paper. \r\n \r\nAnother aspect of this project was getting aprons to protect our clothing. Art can be messy, but with aprons, students will not be afraid to get creative, especially when we are working with inks. \r\n\r\nOur students are getting ready to create posters for a state-level poster contest on conservation. These materials could not have come at a better time to inspire us to create posters for this contest. \r\n\r\nThis project will make this entire year a creative one in our art room because, as the project is entitled, we recreated a creative space with paints and papers and art supplies.","fullyFundedDate":1746535882751,"projectUrl":"project/recreating-a-creative-space-paints-and/9278711/","projectTitle":"Recreating a Creative Space: Paints and Papers and Art Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kunsman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1905807_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1450578447489","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1905807"},{"teacherId":1905807,"projectId":9358018,"letterContent":"My students have been looking forward to creating some type of graffiti art since last year. Their first lesson was to learn about the history of graffiti and how it has grown to be viewed as art rather than simply vandalism. We especially studied Graffiti Alley in Baltimore, a place set aside for the legal painting of graffiti. Of course, we learned that as students, our graffiti will only be on paper we print in the art room!\r\n\r\nNext, students used thin styrofoam sheets to create a plate for printing. We learned that if they are writing words to print, they have to remember that they will print backwards, so that was challenging for them. We always have someone who ends up with their name printed the wrong way! \r\n\r\nWhen seeing the inks for the first time, my students thought they were looking at tubes of paint. We discussed the qualities of inks and they saw examples of prints made with inks, including the ones I have created in my classroom. The paper is 5\"x7\" and I explained to them that we are using a handheld brayer to print for this project. \r\n\r\nWe are spending many weeks on printmaking this year, so our upcoming projects will include monoprints and linoleum printmaking. We are studying the artwork of Margaret Burroughs, who used art to draw awareness to poverty and those facing hardship. While some chose joyful social celebrations as subjects of their collages, others drew awareness to the cost of living and threats many live with. We have not started using the burlap as we are having trouble printing on the material. However, I think we can still use it to create impactful pieces of art. \r\nAs always, my students love to see what we are doing in the art room, but they got so excited to open packages, not knowing what was inside. Once the materials were out of the packaging, they had so many questions and wanted to know when we were going to start using these cool art supplies. Of course, we had to have lessons over the safety rules with the Exacto knives and lessons on how to care for our art materials so they last a long time. However, when we finally got to the fun part of the project, they became absorbed in their creations. My art room has been a creative mess as day after day, students tear through newspapers and magazines to find just the right images for their collages. \r\n\r\nMy students are learning to respect and appreciate the art of printmaking by studying well-respected modern-day printmakers like Ron Pokrasso.
